Description of Google Assistant

Google Assistant application is an AI-powered virtual assistant developed by Google. It was an extension of Google Now and designed to expand Google's existing "OK Google" voice controls. But unlike Google Now, the Google Assistant can engage in two-way conversations.

It is primarily available on mobile and smart home devices.

Features of Google Assistant

  • Link your Google devices

To make everything easier for you Google Assistant app helps you control your smart home devices, such as - smart TV, smart-watch, speaker, smart display, laptop, and more. You can also link it to your car. All you need to do is link your account to the smart device. When setting up a new device with the app, Google will push a notification to your phone that you can choose to automatically add your information.

  • Unlock phone with voice

This Assistant allows you to use your voice to unlock your phone. Sometimes it is irritating to input your PIN or pattern to unlock your phone and command Google Assistant. To bypass this step use Google Assistant's voice command to unlock your device. Just go to your settings and select OK Google Detection followed by your voice.

  • Schedule activities for later

With Google Assistant app, you can easily control your home devices from outside. The Scheduled Actions feature helps you arrange any activities for a device at a specific time.

  • Digital Post-Its

There is a feature called Household Notes. This feature re-envisions Post-It Notes for a smart display. It displays the post-it for anyone nearby to see. You just need to say "OK, Google, leave a note" to create the sticky note.

  • Read aloud

To make Google Assistant read aloud any web article that is open on your device, just say “Hey Google, read it” or “Hi Google, read this page” and it will recite whatever is written on that web page.

  • Hear some good news

If you are tired from all the unrelenting negativity of daily news and want to hear something good, Google Assistant application is here for you. Just say "Hi Google, Tell me something good," and it will tell you a summary of an uplifting news story. You can also find out the story in detail if you want, all you need to do is just say it.
