Hello Neighbor is a survival horror stealth game about sneaking into your neighbor's house to reveal horrible secrets he's hiding in the basement. The game uses an advanced Artificial Intelligence that modifies the neighbor's behavior based on your previous actions, making it able to counter your moves.

It was developed by Russian video game studio Dynamic Pixels and published by tinyBuild.

The Hello Neighbor game is available for the platforms - Windows 64-bit and Xbox One and also mobile devices including iPhone 6s, iPad 5, iPad Air 2, iPad Mini 4 or newer iOS gadgets, along with select Android devices. It is also available in numerous languages and permits you to select your desired language.

Gameplay

Hello Neighbor is a game based on the first-person perspective. The gameplay of it is pretty simple. Here the player finds themselves moving into a new house and finds a mysterious neighbor acting suspicious and keeping secrets.

The player needs to break into the neighbor's home and solve a series of puzzles and gather the items needed to access his basement.

The players need to keep himself out of the neighbor's sight. If the player is caught or injured, they will be sent back to their own house and will have to break in again.

Plot

There are mainly four Acts in this Hello Neighbor game. In Act 1 it is shown that Nicky Roth hears a scream from his neighbor's house while playing. Nicky goes to inspect and witnesses the neighbor locking someone in his basement. The neighbor captures Nicky when he finds Nicky sticking around the house.

Act 2 begins with Nicky waking up to find himself locked in the neighbor's basement dungeon. After solving a series of puzzles, he manages to flee back to his home, and the neighbor Mr. Peterson does not give chase. Throughout both Acts 1 and 2, if Nicky is caught by Mr. Peterson before he escapes, he will have vivid nightmares about the neighbor's past.

Nicky is a 23 years old grown man in Act 3 and is forced to move back to his childhood home. He visits Mr. Peterson's house now a burned-out husk and begins hallucinating a shadow-like monster and many events took place simultaneously in this act.

In the finale act, Nicky must protect a younger version of himself from a giant shadow man.

It is implied that most of Act 3 and the Finale is a nightmare occurring in Nicky's head, and his escape signifies him finally coming to terms with his kidnapping at the hands of the neighbor when he was a little boy.
