Share Chat

Share Chat application is India's fastest-growing social media platform in local languages from India. It's their own social media network. This site has more than 100 million users around the country and it supports 14 Indian languages (Hindi, Telegu, Marathi Gujrati, Panjabi, Malayalam, Bengali, Tamil, Kannada, Odia, Bhojpuri, Assamese, Rajasthani, Haryanvi and Urdu).

To change the language of this Share Chat app, user have to click on the present language on the top-left. They can select their preferred language then. Share Chat was created by three students of IIT Kanpur.  

This Indian social media platform developed by Mohalla Tech Pvt. They offer various features like private messaging, tagging, and personal messaging. By enabling them users can share videos, jokes, songs, and other language-based social content with others.It was released on December 19, 2014.

The 'Private Messaging' feature is designed to encourage one to one communication in Indian languages among the vernacular internet users of India. With 'Open Tagging' feature, users can create tags and post relevant content under these user generated tags.

Share Chat app was designed to make it easy to share content from the platform on to WhatsApp. Because of its design is worked on even the poorest connections.

How to use share chat:

First, users have to open the Share Chat app. There they will see 2 sections "follow feed" and "trending feed", In the following feed user will be able to see the content of only those people you have followed whereas in trending people you can check out the posts which are trending on the whole of Share Chat Android application.

Here user can make Friends via chat room. They can download and share free WhatsApp status Videos, funny video clips etc. With others. User can make video using share chat filter. There is 300+ emoji and face filter.

How to post a YouTube video on share chat:

For that user have to click on the pencil button in the bottom right corner of the home screen. Then they have to Select the text box and paste the link of the YouTube video they want to upload. Click post button only when the preview loads.

WHAT'S NEW:

• More exciting tools for Group Admins: Admins can now set special group rules to help manage their group. Admins can also see a list of best members in their groups by clicking on the group name. Admins can also see their groups performance for the last week! Admins can also run polls in the group for members
• Making chatrooms better: Hosts can now invite members of their chatroom to audio slot.

The drawback of share chat app:

This service is primarily designed to communicate with each other in the mother tongue. The problem is when we had the 'English' language option, more than 50% of users would choose English and wouldn't engage too much in the app. It can be seen that they could not speak English beyond exchanging basic pleasantries.
